We’ve built a welcoming, friendly chess community here in Farsley. On this page you will find details of when and where we meet, how to follow us online and how to support us.
We meet every Wednesday from 7pm, no need to book. Chess players of all ages and abilities are welcome. Our friends at Deeva restaurant in Farsley very generously allow us to use a space in their restaurant to meet.
You will find us at 58 Town Street, Farsley, Leeds, LS28 5LD. As you enter, you’ll find the bar directly ahead where you can grab a drink. We meet on the ground floor of the restaurant to play chess.
We have a WhatsApp group for members. Speak to Dave or any of the regular members to be added to this group.
Farsley has a rich history in chess, the current club was founded in 2022 by Anthony Ibbitson.

Follow our progress for our first year in the 2025/26 Leeds Chess League.
League matches are held on Wednesday evenings and follow a format similar to the English Premier League. Teams include Rose Forgrove in Roundhay, Alwoodley, and Leeds University. All chess matches are played with a clock, with each player receiving 80 minutes of time, plus a 10-second increment for each move.
